Simon is always learning and sharing knowledge with the guys on each walk he attends. Simon joined the MenWalkTalk Team because he wanted to help reduce the stigma associated with men’s mental ill-health and he hopes that by sharing his own experiences, might encourage other men to realise it is ok to speak up and ask for help when they need it.

Vick was bought up in Falmouth in Cornwall. She has travelled around the world as a navy wife so has had many different roles including Youth Worker, Project Worker in Education, Education Welfare Officer, Project Manager, Volunteer Coordinator and Custody Officer with the police. She moved back to the UK and worked for the NHS and then a school as a Young Person Mental Health Worker. She then worked for a charity that specialised in trafficked young people before becoming a foster carer for them. She is excited to now be able to make a difference as part of MenWalkTalk.

He enjoys spending time with his children, watching live sport and walking the dog.

Like many who support the mental health agenda, he has his own personal reasons for getting involved, having been off work for 6 months with stress and anxiety in 2017. He saw the fantastic work that Matt and the team at MenWalkTalk were doing and got involved as a trustee in 2020 when the charity was still in its infancy. His roles to date as a trustee have included Treasurer and Chair. During his time with MenWalkTalk he has heard many fantastic stories about the positive impact that our volunteers are making, and he is passionate about helping the charity to succeed in its goals supporting men’s mental health.

A Sussex born and bred Father-of-2 who by days works in the media and technology worlds in leadership and commercial roles. My passions lie with cars, sport and technology but having grown up with a Dad who was devoted to helping charities, I've found myself as a Trustee in a variety of places over the past 20+ years. A long-standing interest in mental health and some recent personal challenges signposted me to joining the MenWalkTalk team to help drive their work and ambitions.

He has known many people who didn’t have places or people to turn to, and MenWalkTalk fills a vital space for those who might be unwilling to seek help elsewhere or have been left waiting for the support they need. Rod says it is great to be part of something that draws on his knowledge and experiences.

Taylor joined MenWalkTalk as a Trustee in September 2022 and brings with him a focus on “people”, working with the wider team to make Men Walk Talk the best place to work and to volunteer. Taylor has a background in operational HR and strategic workforce programmes in the NHS, working closely with clinicians, managers and healthcare partners to help transform services. Taylor lost his father in December 2021 to mental illness and he is passionate about using his skills and expertise to help run the charity so we can help other Dad’s who need it most. Taylor is also motivated to work with the charity to grow and expand our reach into different communities – this goes beyond geography.
